Farmers provides local telephone services within our service areas, as regulated by the Colorado Public Utility Commission and the Federal Communications Commission, and governed by all other applicable laws and regulations.
Basic phone service allows you to make and receive calls or send a fax. There are various features that you may choose as options such as caller ID and call waiting.
Eligible low-income households may receive financial help with the cost of phone installation and basic local phone service. The lifeline program provides a monthly discount off the cost of basic local phone service. The link-up program provides assistance in the connection charges for phone service.
Customers are eligible if they are certified for eligibility by the Colorado Department of Human Services. Applicants are eligible for this program if they have a monthly household gross income at or below one hundred eighty-five percent of the federal poverty level. In providing Colorado Low-Income Telephone Assistance, the Department of Human Services will give priority to households where one or more persons are recipients of: Old Age Pension, Aid to the Needy Disabled, Aid to the Blind, Supplemental Social Security Disability Benefits, or Colorado Works Assistance. The Department of Human Services will periodically recertify an individual’s eligibility to receive Low-Income Telephone Assistance. Here is a link to the Colorado agency on Lifeline certification.
